València World Design Capital 2022
The World Design Organization designates and promotes a host city as the “World Design Capital” every two years. For their application, cities are required to create a special brand design that will be used if they succeed in their bid. València will take over the mantle in 2022. The visual identity created by the city is based on a simple and modular solution with great flexibility that is built upon the geometric simplification of the initials VWDC. Geometry was used as a universal and timeless design language. The result is a strong, recognisable and memorable brand image. The brand identity has been widely promoted by both general and specialist media.
