Tira
Gold, with its unique properties, has been used in jewellery design for centuries. It is very easy to shape and process, possesses a certain density and has a distinctive brilliance. The Tira bangle is made of 750 gold, a gold alloy that is commonly used in jewellery due to its malleable yet solid properties. The fascination of this bangle, with its highly sensuous appeal, is found in the novel design approach it follows by exploiting the properties of the material. Through a delicate interplay it merges the contrasting aspects of utmost material hardness with the greatest possible flexibility. This bangle gently embraces the arm of its wearer, showcasing the full beauty of the material. In order not to obstruct the unity of material and form, the simple yet functional push button was transformed coherently and unobtrusively into the gold. Poignantly logical in functionality, this allows the piece of jewellery to be open and closed safely and easily. In addition, it lends the golden coils of the bangle a seamlessly organic appearance that draws attention with a perfect fit. Thus Tira is the successful expression of a design that aims at placing the bangle in a light yet opulent context.
