Hotel
Thé Stay
The first impression an air traveller gets of a country is the airport. The idea behind Thé Stay, a 24-hour hotel at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, is to give their guests a taste of Taiwan’s tea culture. The style of the interior is characterised as much by the natural texture of wood and by the geometric lines of the wall panels, which are inspired by the pattern of the paths in a tea plantation. The place where the guests sleep show the gabled shape of a tearoom. The hotel’s exterior was designed to appear small – a reference to the low entrance of traditional tearooms, intended as a lesson in modesty to the guest.
