The Spring
With subtle colours, flowing forms and an aesthetic concept reminiscent of traditional print graphics, this series of pictures interprets the short story “The Selfish Giant” by Oscar Wilde. The story is about a giant who is punished for his hard-heartedness: after he has chased children from his beautiful garden, the ground falls into perpetual winter. Only when the children are once more allowed to play does spring return. Typical for the fairy-tale genre is the magical spirit and the educational intention, both reflected by the illustrations in a child-friendly manner.
