Taiwan Taboo
Although Taiwan is a thoroughly modern society based on reason and technology, vestiges of non-scientific customs and taboos are noticeable in everyday life. In Chinese tradition, spirits and souls have a great influence in the world. With the intention of integrating the spiritual dimension instead of suppressing and forgetting it, the picture series presents densely populated scenes with numerous spiritual beings. The idea of symbiotic harmony between people and spirits is implemented in an imaginative, subtly humorous style.
