Staircase Object 004

The Staircase Object 004 is the central element of a comprehensive interior design for the editorial department floor of the fischerAppelt PR- and Marketing agency. It comprises a bar/kitchen, terraced seating, cupboards and display cases and a staircase in a range of materials consisting of concrete, larch and raw steel. At the heart of the complex is the staircase which seems to tower down from the roof garden above and is made of ten “Us” of suitably bent, 15 mm thick, slightly corroded, untreated steel panels that are simply bolted onto the supporting structure. These components vary only in height.

This light, but nevertheless striking piece of interior architecture is characterised by a charming mixture of styles and materials.
