The fact that “the uncompromising approach to sustainability is central to the production of the Solgaard Circular Backpack” was particularly honoured by the jury. To strengthen the idea of the circular economy – i.e. facilitate the processes of disassembly and recycling – the entire backpack is made of a single polymer: PET. This material is derived from recycled plastic bottles. To optimise users’ daily work, life and travel routines, the Solgaard Circular Backpack is equipped with a shock-resistant laptop compartment, as well as carrying handles and shoulder straps. This means that it can be either carried as a bag or worn as a backpack.
