DNA Sequencer
Sequel System
The Sequel System is a human genome sequencing machine that is more powerful, cost-efficient and smaller than its predecessor. To prevent the door from obstructing the user, it glides down when opening, giving unrestricted access to the cells, which are arranged neatly on a stainless-steel platform. When the door glides back up again, an airtight chamber is created and the robotic arm dispenses chemicals onto the cells in order to start the analysis process.
Statement by the Jury
The extraordinary compactness of the Sequel System is cleverly broken up by the forward-curving front. The device has an open and clearly structured look.
