The se:air office chair replaces conventional swivel chair technology with a kinetic-swing mechanism that automatically adjusts to the user’s weight. Instead of the usual upholstery, air-permeable and breathable knitted membranes are used for the seat and backrest. All functions are combined in a few components, which reduces complexity to a minimum and ensures that the materials can be easily separated. The jury was convinced by the innovative design and its formal implementation as well as the sustainability of the product, as no waste and no offcuts, for instance, are generated in the manufacture of the membrane.
