Kitchen Unit
Knife Series
Sarah Wiener
Kitchen knives are among the most important tools for any cook. Ideally, they are easy to work with and fit perfectly into the user’s hand. The Sarah Wiener knife series was developed in close cooperation with celebrity chef Sarah Wiener. Just as her cuisine is based on freshness and quality, this knife series speaks for tradition and form. The series is made up of nine pieces manufactured by Pott, a long-established German knife maker, in a traditional process involving different 90 process steps. The blades are extremely tough and rust resistant, as well as flexible and resilient. Using one piece of molybdenum-vanadium stainless steel from Solingen, each blade is forged by hand in nine steps. What is more, they have a Rockwell hardness of 56 degrees and are also ice hardened, which gives them excellent “edge retention”. They therefore stay sharp for a long time and can easily be sharpened at home. Daily food preparation with these knives is made even easier through good ergonomics and functionality. The ergonomically designed bolster protects the fingers and a precisely placed centre of gravity prevents the hand from becoming tired. The harmonious combination of high-quality natural materials in a single unit is also impressive. The handles of the Sarah Wiener knife series have a gently sweeping form which makes them sit well in the hand. They are made of carefully selected local damson wood, the grain and colour of which caresses both hand and eye of the beholder.
