The fully automated RainDance ThunderStorm sequencing system can process up to 96 samples simultaneously. A major focus of the design was on creating an open architecture that enables fast and efficient loading and unloading of samples. Since it is a relatively large unit, the colour palette was chosen to make the system appear smaller.

The device not only impresses with its high throughput of samples, but also with its transparent front, which communicates the transparency of the work procedures.
