Pleasure & Treasure – International Exhibition of Austrian Design

The Austrian national showcase of selected design products from Austria, presented at Milan Design Week 2019, was held in the Sala Reale, the former royal family’s waiting room at the central railway station. The idea was to divide the event into two spaces, each with its own theme. The first was a dark monumental space like a treasure chamber that housed a selection of design objects majestically enthroned above a pool of golden chocolate coins. The other space was flooded with natural light and filled with white packaging material on which the exhibits seemed to float, inviting visitors to become children again by focusing on the joy evoked by the objects.
