Typeface
O-WEN
In the title of this font, the “O” stands for the rounded shape of the strokes, while “Wen” is the Chinese word for “writing”. With the intention of breaking up the stereotype of angular Chinese characters, the typeface was created on the basic form of the circle. Consequently, soft curves and flowing transitions are predominant features of the script. The variations in stroke width have a blooming effect. Furthermore, the print structure of the wood movable types lends the letters an organic, natural quality.
