Speakers and a microphone are integrated for easy two-way communication. Thanks to HDR and a night vision mode, the camera delivers a reliably good image. Moreover, it also has a 2-MP colour sensor, a 130-degree field of view and a six-fold digital zoom. Users can thus follow the live stream, talk to visitors via the integrated speaker and microphone or zoom in if they want to take a closer look. The Nest Cam gives them the ability to set their own personal alarm zones and receive smart alerts to let them know when something important or noteworthy is happening at home. As the camera also integrates with social media, users can also save and share clips from their smartphone. Impressively fluid in appearance, the Nest Cam’s emotionalising design language is continued in an optional stand that also allows it to be placed decoratively on a shelf.
