Surgical Technology
MIS-EMTs
The MIS-EMTs is an electromagnetic tracking system for minimally invasive surgical procedures. It uses an induction coil to generate alternating magnetic fields at multiple frequencies. As soon as the sensory probe enters the electromagnetic field, spatial information can be recorded and tracked. In this way, the MIS-EMTs allows for accurate, minimally invasive surgeries in real time while minimising the risk of complications. The raised pattern on the top of the device is reminiscent of a magnetic field.
Statement by the Jury
