Social Campaign Poster
Microplastic Supermarket
The poster “Microplastic Supermarket” convincingly addresses pollution through plastic packaging by depicting it as a vicious cycle. Under the banner “What they eat, what we eat.”, it shows what appears to be fresh seafood. However, this in fact consists of a white, granular substance representing microplastics. It enters the food chain of marine life and is therefore also ingested by humans. The harmful use of plastic packaging is further emphasised by the plastic foil in which the creature is vacuum-sealed and the price tag with two infinity symbols, labelled “Fresh Microplastic”.
