The reproduction of metallic inks is always a challenge in print, as their effect is strongly influenced by light refraction and viewing angle. With METALLIC INK, Fujifilm has developed a solution that is specifically designed to overcome this problem. By reversing the ink layers, the metallic pigments are first applied to the paper. This allows them to be reproduced brilliantly and evenly, even in colour gradients. The print results are very close to a hot foil finish. This more cost-effective alternative is therefore a remarkable innovation that allows a great deal of creative freedom, the jurors summed up.
