Kushuku Kyoto Hotel
The design of this hotel is focused on a balance between preserving the existing old house, built using traditional Japanese techniques, and integrating new elements. The subtle overall concept has emerged as a relaxing space with a sense of Japanese daily life, achieved through the implementation of elements such as a huge paper lantern that is 150 cm in diameter. Created by traditional craftsman in Kyoto, the space delivers the experience of shifting light scenarios. The walls of the guest rooms are covered with mounted Japanese ancient shrines and temple antiques, creating a space for guests to get a feel for traditional craftsmen’s art.
