Kizuna ring (NEJIRU)

Back Download

The Kizuna (Nejiru) wedding rings are created using the 400-year-old Japanese blacksmithing technique of “Mokume-Gane”. In this process, thin metal sheets are laminated together into a block, with the different coloured sheets creating fine lines. The block is then formed into a large ring, which is twisted and separated into two rings that are, in turn, shaped further. The rings thus embody the meaning of a bond – one that symbolises not the state of a completely sound connection but rather the will to keep this connection alive.

Statement by the Jury

The rings’ shared origin is a perfect symbol of the deep bond between two people in love.
