iPod nano
The newly-designed iPod nano is flatter and lighter than the previous model and offers more storage space for music or pictures. The anodised aluminium housing is available in five colours so as to suit different user preferences. The player is available as a 2, 4 or 8 GB version and can store up to 2,000 songs or 25,000 pictures. Flash memory chips serve as the storage medium – and ensure that playback is smooth even if the unit is jolted. The iPod supports all standard music and image formats, and can also play audio books and podcasts. With integration of the iTunes software, the user can purchase songs, audio books and podcasts in the iTunes Store and synchronise the iPod with the user’s Mac or PC. The player runs on a rechargeable battery capable of supplying power to the unit for up to 24 hours. Weighing a mere 40 grammes, the iPod can be worn around the neck or arm during sports activities. Additional features include a calendar, address and contact management, stopwatch and four games.
