This work was produced using the scratchboard technique. It is based on Aesop’s Fables, the one called The Boy Who Cried Wolf. It is the story of a shepherd boy who consistently fools his neighbours by telling them there is a wolf attacking his sheep. He was soon no longer believed, a fact that was finally his downfall when a wolf really did appear. The black-and-white etching shows the ignorant boy surrounded by his sheep. The filigree lines of the bodies thereby contrast strongly against the white worked out heads.
