Hayao Miyazaki
Hayao Miyazaki is one of three Japanese artists chosen to be portrayed in an artist portrait project for making significant contributions to the art world. Born in 1941, Miyazaki is a film director, producer, screenwriter, animator, author and manga artist. He gained fame and admiration among children with anime films such as “Howl’s Moving Castle”, “Ponyo”, “Spirited Away”, “Princess Mononoke”, “Porco Rosso”, “Kiki’s Delivery Service”, “My Neighbor Totoro”, “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind” and “Castle in the Sky”. For this project, the figure was first drawn in pencil and then coloured digitally.
