Forspiro

The ergonomic Forspiro multi-dose dry powder inhaler (mDPI) contains a month’s supply of asthma medication and showcases a simple, uncomplicated design. A striking feature of this inhaler is the colour contrast between lid, lever and housing, fostering tension through its language of form. Haptic aspects and handling were developed in close collaboration with patients and carefully tested for intuitive usability. The innovative mechanism of this mDPI involves a blister strip, with its integrated dosage counter, being moved forward visibly and reliably by a smooth-running lever. Upon closing the lever, the piercing of the blister is clearly heard and felt. A transparent side door, safely containing the used blisters until they are torn off, offers additional visual inhalation control. The device is environmentally friendly thanks to a significantly reduced use of materials. In addition, the materials can be completely separated into blister strips and plastic body after inhaling the last dose, allowing for easy recycling.
