FLUX

Unlike most existing electronic instruments, acoustic instruments have a real gestural repertoire which enables musicians to express themselves with virtuosity. FLUX was inspired by these instruments to reinstate the gesture in the instrumental performance of electronic music. The touch sensors allow for the exploration of new instrumental gestures. FLUX is designed as an object embodying more direct, or corporeal, representations of musical functions. It is an instrument for electronic music. While still being compatible with music software, its features rely on gestures and body expressions for processes of sound manipulation.
