Flowing Chair
This chair is inspired by a well-known traditional Chinese armchair. The chair’s construction is made using a computer-generated double curvature and eight-axis CNC fabrication. They work together to visualise and reinterpret the traditional design using a more modern manufacturing process.
The chair’s legs, arms, and back are all connected by a single graceful curve. The back legs, which are leaning out, form an energetic angle. At the same time, the spacious seat provides supreme comfort. A fantastic rhythm exists between the positive and negative shapes, resembling a river confluence. Its name Flowing Chair refers to the way the waters flow into one another.
