Special Flair

For a long time, the world of camping fans seemed to be divided into two groups: On the one hand, tent and van owners, who are flexible and adventurous, and on the other, motorhome owners, who are often a little older and looking for a certain level of comfort. The latter form of camping holiday in particular had a reputation for being a bit stuffy. However, since the coronavirus pandemic, much has changed in the camping industry and new target groups have come into focus – including at German motorhome manufacturer Niesmann+Bischoff. The Flair is a liner-class motorhome that was developed over a period of two years. It is characterised by a contemporary, elegant ambience that can be customised in many details and is designed to appeal to people with high aesthetic standards. While the exterior of the motorhome is kept rather straightforward and simple apart from the distinctive light signatures at the front and rear, the interior conveys a surprisingly generous feeling of space and the impression of a pleasantly reduced but very high-quality interior as soon as one enters. “In the interior design of the Flair, the choice of materials, surface design, shape and colour scheme are perfectly coordinated and create a strong feeling of openness, calm and clarity in which one immediately feels at home,” said the jury. Even visually, the interior is surprisingly spacious, characterised by a clear visual axis from the driver’s cab to the rear bed. The use of special materials is also striking. For example, the Flair has smoked glass sliding doors, cabinet surfaces made of high-quality real wood veneer, wall panelling with acoustic felt covering and a concrete-look wellness shower with a walk-in shower tray made of solid surface material. All elements are available in numerous colour and material variants. In addition, the Flair has many practical innovations such as a swivelling rear bench with belt seats, an intuitive lighting concept and a body door with a sensor-controlled opening angle that slightly closes automatically when the flap of the adjacent storage compartment is opened. “The space available here was optimised very efficiently and with numerous clever detailed solutions,” praised the jury. “All in all, the interior achieves a haptic and aesthetic quality that really sets new standards in the liner sector.”
