Dreaminals

Designed to inspire individual creativity and promote customisable play, DREAMINALS is an app-integrated toy using infrared recognition technology. The fun for children begins with building the animal of their dreams from a set of animal pieces. DREAMINALS pieces come in sets of three simple parts—heads, arms and legs. They are held together with pressure joints that allow for easy assembly and disassembly. Once the child’s animal is assembled, simply place it in front of an infrared-recognition-enabled device and watch the animal come to life. This technology also allows a child to adjust or rebuild their Dreaminal in real time, both physically and digitally on their device. From there, the child can give their Dreaminal a name and create a persona for them. The child can use the app to animate their new friend in stories, activities and games. The DREAMINALS app is also able to scan and convert other 3D objects, such as another favourite toy, into characters to be played with in the app. Leaving the final product up to the child’s creativity allows for an additional element of personalised play.
