The Dortmunder U stands for great industrial history like no other building in the German town of Dortmund. After prolonged and elaborate remodelling, the former high-rise brewery structure reopened in 2010 as a centre for art and creativity. A pivotal facet of its corporate design is the logo: a distinctively shaped letter “U”, which refers to the U-shaped neon lights that have been towering over the city for more than 40 years. Together with the subjacent bar, it forms an umbrella brand in the truest sense for all institutions entering into cooperation with the Dortmunder U.
