Surgical Robot
Dexter
Dexter is a robotic system for minimally invasive surgery conceived for placement within the sterile zone. It allows surgeons to switch swiftly between manual and robotic surgery. With its exoskeleton-shaped construction, Dexter replicates even complex movements of the surgeon with the robot arms holding the surgical instruments. This gives surgeons the choice to operate in a seated or standing position during laparoscopic surgery.
Statement by the Jury
Dexter supports ergonomic posture and promotes precise surgery. Thanks to its compact design, the footprint is strongly reduced.
