Bright Summit Science

Bright Summit Science (BSS) is a Chinese institution that pursues various objectives, such as educating schoolchildren, in order to disseminate the natural sciences among the public. The institute’s corporate design makes use of a silhouette of Bright Summit Peak, the second highest peak in the Huangshan Mountains, which is famous for its panoramic view. The key graphic symbol for BSS is a light bulb, symbolically bringing light to the darkness of ignorance, with stylised stairs representing the progress of civilisation. Implementing typography reminiscent of handwriting, the logo communicates that science – like the famous mountain – is to be discovered and scaled by the individual.
