For the design of this smartphone, special attention was paid to a compact design which lies pleasantly in the hand. The four rounded corners give the user the feel of holding the whole screen in the hand. The innovative Free Form Display has a camera integrated in the screen. The back of the 3D liquid crystal screen has been treated with a special vapour deposition process which imparts on it a clear, elegant surface finish.
Statement by the Jury
The Aquos R2 compact gains merit with its ergonomically sophisticated construction, which proves to be very user-friendly.
