Haru
Adesse
Adesse reimagines the traditional analog watch with minimalist principles. It omits the superfluous and shows just enough to tell the time.
Designed through subtraction, traditional watch features are removed. A sculptural rotating piece is carved out. The interior edges of the cases are scored to indicate the hours and quarters (minutes). From the bird’s eye view one can only see the taller and deeper hour makers. It is only from a side-on view that the quarter markings between each hour are revealed. As time progresses throughout the day, most of the quarter markers become hidden by the rotating sculptural face. The only quarter markers that are fully revealed are the ones that are relevant to that hour, acting as a memento to stay in the present moment.
