Hearing Aid
Emergency Flashlight and Mask
5aver
When a fire breaks out, every minute counts. Within a very short time, the fire produces toxic smoke and gases, which harm the lungs and can be extremely dangerous for humans. This is why a common rule says that persons in danger have five minutes to evacuate the danger area. The concept of the 5aver integrates a flash light and a respirator in one functional unit and thus is perfectly adjusted for a sensible and quick response in the case of fire. The design of this rescue system is highly self-explanatory, it is compact and allows for an intuitive use even in extreme emergency situations. In only five seconds, users can activate the respirator, which filters 92 per cent of the toxic COs out of the air. The way the 5aver integrates all the components in a compact and aesthetic appearance is innovative. This system has a fresh appeal and also immediately illustrates its purpose through colouring; its clear design vocabulary enriches almost any interior. To comply with a wide variety of locations and scenarios, such as in public buildings, the design of the 5aver follows a modular concept that allows for different configurations. This rescue system presents a highly successful reinterpretation, which both saves lives and enriches its environment through an aesthetic appearance.
Statement by the Jury
The design vocabulary of the 5aver visualises its purpose – in case of an emergency, everyone will know where to find it. It is intuitive to use and ready in a few seconds. The colouring of the 5aver is highly distinctive; the system is space-saving and compact. Here, design lends a product an entirely new image.
