Winners’ Benefits: awarded products in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen
Currently, the registration phase of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2017 is on. The regular registration ends on 20 January 2017. The Red Dot jury assesses thousands of entries from all around the world and assigns the Red Dot for good design quality. The awarded manufacturers and designers use the winner label for their communications and also profit from further benefits. Among others, the award-winning products will be presented in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen.
A real design experience
In the Red Dot Design Museum Essn, visitors can familiarise themselves with around 2,000 exhibits from more than 40 countries, and they can even hold and try out most of the items. Not only does the house present the world’s largest exhibition of contemporary design, it is also an unparalleled design exploratorium. Its unique atmosphere is created by the ever-present contrast between the old and the new, as the Red Dot Design Museum Essen is located in the former boiler house of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Zollverein coal mine. The high-profile British architect Lord Norman Foster converted the building in the mid-1990s especially for use as a museum.
Awarded products in the museum
During the exhibition year, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen presents the winning products to the 150,000 international guests who visit it each year. Additional awareness is generated by organising special exhibitions and by renting out the museum as an event space for business, political and cultural happenings. The first year of the presentation in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen is included in Winner Package.
