The backbone of the Red Dot Award: Design Concept: the jury 2017

The final submission phase for this year’s Red Dot Award: Design Concept ends on 24 May. Thousands of futuristic and innovative will be assessed by the Red Dot jury members in an adjudicating process which lasts several days.

The 20 members of the Red Dot Jury form the backbone of the Red Dot Design Award. These internationally renowned designers and academics can evaluate the design against the background of the respective cultural requirements and the local market because of their expertise and experience as well as their origin. As a result, the decisions taken reflect the global standards in the industry.

In order not to influence the jury, no names or companies are named to the submissions and the jurors have no association with the concepts submitted. In case that there are concepts they are involved with, the jury member abstains from judging. With their look for details, the experts guarantee to judge by the highest quality demands.

The winners will be announced on 5 October 2017, traditionally at the awarding ceremony in Singapore. The top award, the Red Dot: Luminary, will also be announced during this evening.
