Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016 – further jury members
The jury of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016 continues to grow. Among the design professionals from all around the world, who decide which projects belong to this year’s most innovative communication solutions, is Prof. Dr. Christof Rezk-Salama. The game design expert can already look back on years of experience as a Red Dot juror. Also Johnason Lo from Taiwan, founder and creative director of JL DESIGN, will support the jury once again with his international expertise.
Prof. Dr. Christof Rezk-Salama – an expert in the field of game design
Prof. Dr. Christof Rezk-Salama studied information technology at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität in Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany. Subsequently he did his Ph.D. with honors in computer graphics and visualisation. After working as a designing engineer in the field of research and development at Siemens Medical, he returned in order to finish his habilitation at the University of Siegen in 2009. He then taught and researched as a professor and tutor at the Mediadesign College in Düsseldorf, Germany, in the department of game design for several years. In October 2012, he accepted a professorship for game development in the department of informatics at the University of Applied Science in Trier, Germany. Prof. Rezk-Salama is regularly giving lectures and workshops on the topics of computer graphics, visualisation and game development at international events, such as ACM SIGGRAPH, Eurographics and IEEE Visualisation. In the course of his career he received several high-level awards. He furthermore acquired practical knowledge in different disciplines, for example medicine, geology and archeology.
Exceptional talent from Taiwan – designer Johnason Lo
Johnason Lo is the founder and creative director of JL DESIGN, the first motion design studio in Taiwan which became a hybrid creative agency as the nature of the projects began to change. Apart from rebranding global channels such as Al Jazeera, SYFY, HBO Asia, FOX Classic Japan, Disney Channel Taiwan and CCTV9 Documentary Channel, JL DESIGN has worked on films, digital platforms and events. Johnason Lo was one of the three curators for the 2015 Creative Expo Taiwan. Having won numerous awards, Johnason Lo has also been invited to speak at international forums such as TEDxTaipei, KL Design Week, Central Taiwan National Art Exhibition and PromaxBDA Asia Awards.
