Only until 3 May: Awarded communication design in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen
Only until 3 May, visitors can experience impressive communication works in the exhibition “Design on Stage - Winners Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2014” in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen. In the former boiler house of UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein, 600 innovative works of up-and-coming designers and renowned creative agencies and companies are displayed for a few days only. They illustrate impressively how to communicate in a creative way today. Among the works are annual reports, packaging designs and typographies. Games, interfaces and sound designs are completing the latest Red Dot awarded creative achievements from around the globe.
A highlight is the WWF donation campaign “The Ant Rally” which was developed by BBDO Germany and is shown in the small cinema of the museum: The agency produced a protest march of ants. With messages cut into leaves, the ants demonstrated against the deforestation of the rain forest, and thus against the destruction of their natural habitat.
The “Next Generation Scientific Poster” makes also clear that communication design has a potential to present scientific education. The poster deals with the consequences, mechanisms and reasons of landslides in the ocean as a frequent catalyst of tsunamis. Therefore, Konrad Rappaport was awarded with the Red Dot: Junior Prize 2014 endowed with 10,000 Euros.
