WordUpUp

WordUpUp is a puzzle-like game designed to help children learn English. Embedded in a colourful world full of fun, the game appeals to children who can already read and invites them in a playful manner to put pictures and words together correctly. There are two themes in the game, the Mysterious Forest and the Lively City, each containing 14 puzzles and 28 English words that need to be found in two levels. The background of the scenes in pastel tones is animated and easy to move simply by scrolling. Cute, interesting and easy-to-like, the illustrations are easy to assign, and the task is to drag an animal in the centre of the forest or – in the city – a bus or utility vehicle onto the figure that appears in the top right corner. If both fit together, just like in a puzzle, the English name appears as a word on the screen and in sound, so that the children can hear the standard pronunciation. When interacting with the game world, the cars can even be made to honk their horns and the animals produce their typical noises.
