Word Out Our Type
This project consists of books, calendars and posters that collate images of the lives of people in Taiwan and its historic cultures and transform them into fonts. Each font is intended to convey the stories of the past and the former way of life. The individual characters and the font’s visual characteristics influence and illustrate the quality of the messages delivered. The overall concept revolves around using words to paint pictures to allow memories or even simple traces of life, such as a street scene, to be communicated via typography.
