TRIG

Intended to be more than a last-mile solution (for short to medium distance commuting), TRIG is designed for improved riding experience while retaining the convenience of a traditional folding bike. Instead of using wheels with small diameters, 650C road wheels provide stability while giving a smoother ride over imperfect road surfaces. Coupled with a frame geometry with an agile response, TRIG facilitates easier manoeuvre in city traffic. Without compromising on the ride quality, riders waste less effort manhandling the bike and spend more time enjoying their ride. Critical to the bike design is its folding mechanism located within the top tube of the bike. The bike can be folded through two separate axes in a single motion. A trigger simultaneously releases the bolts and latches that secure both joints to provide greater ease of use. The folding motion draws the rear wheel forward into alignment with the front wheel, allowing the folded bike to be rolled along, even on rough surfaces and flights of stairs. The folding also gives a narrower profile, allowing the bike to be stored easily so users can keep the bike close-by at all times and enjoy their commutes without worrying about parking and storage solutions. For greater usability, TRIG includes an integrated front and rear lights to keep the rider visible to other road users, while using a belt drive reduces the maintenance required. The frameset is designed to be compatible with standard components where possible, allowing greater user customisation and serviceability. Red Dot Award: Design Concept | Concept | Mobility
