Pop-Haler : Portable Inhalers for Pediatric Asthma Patients Who Need Spacers
Paediatric asthma patients often struggle to inhale effectively due to the high-pressure spray from an inhaler. Therefore, a cylindrical product called a spacer or chamber is combined with the inhaler. This creates additional space, allowing the drug to remain stationary and enabling easy inhalation through repeated breathing for about 5 to 10 seconds. However, carrying both inhalers and spacers is inconvenient, and the need to combine them with each use reduces usability.
POP-HALER addresses these issues of portability, usability, and appearance. Its doughnut-shaped chamber structure acts as a spacer while providing comfortable breathing through an airflow hole. It is designed for immediate use and can be worn on a bag or pants with a detachable strap. Its round form and non-slip matte surface provide a better grip for children, and its vivid two-tone colour and unique appearance not only facilitate ease of use during an asthma attack but also give the impression of a fashionable accessory.
