This book was designed in the context of the film “Pioniere des Reisens” (Pioneers of Travel), which tells the history of the MAIRDUMONT publishing company and the family history of its managing director Volkmar Mair. To do justice to the family’s thirst for adventure, a large-scale format was chosen for the book. The open back, the uncoated paper and the red thread stitching emphasise the pioneering achievements. The photos are presented as filmstrips that run through the pages, creating interesting image sections, which are resolved only on the next page.
