Meant For You (2021)
“Meant For You” is a short film about a young couple in the future dealing with their relationship anxieties. In the film, trouble is caused by a smartwatch featuring a futuristic app that can tell whether your partner is the perfect match for you. The soundtrack underlines the tensions of the protagonists through muffled beats and swelling spherical tones. As a counterpart, a dispassionate female voice is used along with synthesiser timbres to highlight the power of the watch. Thus, a sonic environment is built which mirrors the narrative and heightens its unsettling effect.
