Urban Installation
Liuku
The Fair Centre of Finland, Messukeskus, celebrated its 100th anniversary with a public and interactive art installation. The design met the challenge of “getting people together”, which is the unique selling point of the Expo Centre. The installation consists of an adventure space in the shape of a capital M, measuring 7 metres in height and 25 metres in length. Made of sustainable wood and offering dynamic lighting, the interior contains stairs that double as seats and a long slide which pays homage to the slide remembered from the first fair a century ago. The structure is permanent and has been designed to comply with strict child safety regulations.
