Orientation System
Kaohsiung National Stadium
The design orientation system for the Kaohsiung National Stadium in Taiwan is based on scientific traffic flow arrangements and wayfinding principles. The objective was to make it easily identifiable in terms of colour, image, alphabet and sequential number, from both afar and up close. The concept of a “motionless” logo was inspired and adapted to the streamlined structure of the building, while the inclusive imagery was inspired by Zen philosophy and aims at representing the building’s beauty of “movement”. To provide visual orientation, the design integrates the colours of the seating in the stadium. The achromatic colour concept used as a background matches the fair-faced concrete.
