Innovative Design of Products and Systems for Forest Fires

Zurück Download

This innovative design project for forest firefighting integrates six dimensions of firefighting operations: function division, information transfer, firefighting modes, mobility, resource mobilisation, and emergency risk avoidance. Designed for the Daxinganling area of Heilongjiang, China, it caters to professional forest firefighting teams. The equipment is tailored to specific firefighting processes and scenarios, encompassing full-body protective gear, a conceptual fire suppression module, and an off-road motorised sprayer. The full-body protective gear includes a multi-functional helmet with HUD, communication, nightlight, respirator, disposable emergency fire cover, and environmental detector. It also features an emergency oxygen cylinder, coolant circulation valve, vital signs detection equipment, protective clothing and armour, and a powered exoskeleton. The fire suppression module explores innovative and efficient fire-extinguishing methods using mixed foam agents. The off-road sprayer enhances firefighter mobility and material use, while an underground fire detection UAV aids in residual fire clean-up, supported by auxiliary robots. This conceptual equipment maximises integration and control ease, aiming to improve firefighting efficiency, safety, and risk avoidance. The project leverages existing command systems and addresses the unique challenges faced by forest firefighters in the targeted region.
