Featuring a strong message and symbolism, this poster promotes the upcoming performance of “The Barber of Seville”, a well-known opera by Gioachino Antonio Rossini. The design challenges viewers by placing the actions of the opera’s main character centre stage and communicating that the “sly” barber skilfully deceives people. The symbolism of the shaving brush indicates that the barber “soaps” his adversaries, meaning that he “pulls wool” over their eyes to dupe them.
