The CleanMill broad Ar-ion system designed and manufactured by Technoorg Linda exclusively for Thermo Fisher Scientific excels in materials science and battery research. SEMs require precise sample preparation, often needing a protected environment to produce high-quality images. Exposure to air can compromise samples, making accurate analysis impossible. CleanMill enables the user to transfer samples using an inert gas transfer system from a glove box, a broad ion beam milling device, and a SEM, providing a simple and elegant solution to this complex problem.
As mentioned, the standout feature of CleanMill is its ability to transfer sensitive samples under a vacuum or inert gas environment using the Thermo Scientific CleanConnect inert gas sample transfer system, protecting them from oxygen, water vapour, and contaminants. This ensures samples remain pristine from preparation to analysis, which is crucial for accurate SEM analyses. The system’s automated ion beam mill meets the rigorous requirements of SEM sample preparation across various fields, including metallurgy, geology, semiconductors, and the battery industry.
